    awr engine mount for bg

i am in talks with awr to get my self the front and rear mount made

so far this is what is going on

    them

we would be happy to assist. If you want to send a factory set we
    can evaluate it asap

    me

sure i can send in a set how much do you think it would cost me for the mounts since you don't currently make them

    them

If it's a product we should be carrying and we think we could
somewhat mass produce them, then I think we could do them for a typical
mount cost for the set . Usually it would range between 125 and 199
depending on how large and involved the product is.

so if he thinks its worth it to carry the product we will have an alternative to filled mounts or inserts

hmmm. so if you send in your old ones, they'll make a mold, and we'll have a nice alternative to custom off jobs? I rather like that. except the 4wd trans mount isn't the same as the 2wd, but that's a mild point.

oh wait, neither is the rear mount...ghey.

still a cool idea. You should do it, see if the price would come down if they had a group buy.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

im sure i have 3 of the 4 mounts i think if they did the other 2 mounts they would be inserts like the 99 protege

when i send them in i will talk to them about the forum and that there is already some interest to insure they keep them as a product

but before i do that i have to fix my engine rocking problem

I've spoken with Tony at AWR a lot the last few years. He is a great guy to work with. The BG front mount is nearly identical to the BJ front mount with the exception of the smaller studs and a slightly offset sleeve. If anyone is interested in Delrin inserts I could probably make some. I just don't have any Delrin stock large enough right now.

I remember reading that the mx3 rear mount is the same too. that's one less mount to make.

maybe it was the front now that I think about it....hmmm.

well, if he's willing, let's not forget the 4WD. the tranny mount and rear mount are different. I'd love to have some AWR mounts instead of window weld.

Well Escort 1.8l for sure is the same. Anything BG/CT20 2wd with a 1.8l in it.

                        Red mounts look cool.

My only complaint is the Cadmium plating on regular mild steel for the mounts (rust in 2 years). They should be made of Stainless and pay the extra price.

Are the mounts the same for the SOHC?
