And so it begins....323BG hatch ----> V6 powa with a few extra surprises
I have shaved handles on my Mustang. It is not that hard to do, and it looks kool. I have locked myself out a few times though. I have a push button start (no keys), so forgetting the fob in the car happens more then I like to admit. I thought about shaving the handles on the 326, but I plan to drive it deep into the fall (in Canada), so a handle is a good thing to have (to hang off of) when the door is frozen shut. That should not be a problem for you though. LOL
Dominic Toretto rocks a MaZda and his cell phone number starts in "(323)"

I'll keep them. I don't like being locked out, and I actually do like to see a break in the lines there. It makes it look more like an econobox, and that's one of the primary attractions I have to the 323 hatch - love the late 80's designs. Plus the handles are black, so that goes with the silver/black motif...so to speak.
Just more sanding today. Also picked up the recovered dash (ebony black flat with no sheen), looks yummy. I'll probably do the door panels to match if I have enough money left after tires and flares.
Which reminds me, I need to locate some small diameter flares. The ZG stuff, while really nice and NOT fiberglass, are too big for the BG. I need something like for a VW for smaller radius wheel wells...
With the 16x8 0-offset wheels, something in the 3-4" range would be fine. No molding them in, but the fenders will be cut and the flares nut-serted in securely.

dude with the skills u have, why not just widen the body.
To do a proper wide body is beyond the scope of my skills and tooling, not to mention inclination. I don't want this thing on jackstands for 3 years, I want to drive it - I'm already half feeling like I shouldn't have started all the 'pretty-up' work as it's really keeping me from being on the road. I'll finish what I set out to do, but no more, as this is supposed to be a daily driver anyway. As such, flares will do the job just fine.
hey when doing your bondo work don't let it get rock hard before you sand it, it won't smooth out well for you, try sanding it and when the dust falls its good to sand, if it sticks wait a little longer. also it will save on tons of sanding time. its a body man trick a friend taught me, and its a life saver.
