Yes, Wisecos on Hbeams. Some crank polishing and lightening, everything balanced, should be able to cram as much boost as the restrictor will allow...

'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

Assuming you have fuel delivery taken care of, pistons aren't the limiting factor, the rods are. In my direct experience, forged (even factory semi-forged GTR) pistons can take at least 23psi all day long, stock bp rods, if they're the same as bpt rods, can take 17 all day, and 21 for, oh, minutes.

                  Milestone

Hot damn. The drivetrain is in the car, all mounted up and everthang. We just need to widen front track to accomodate halfshafts, mod rear propshaft, install shifter and linkage, and maybe a few other things here and there like manifolds and turbo and exhaust and radiator and etc etc ad ****ing nauseum. I know a couple of y'all were asking if we could make duplicates of the mounts, but the more we go into this the more it's looking like each install's gonna be different. We had much more material to remove to get the xfer to clear the pan than anyone else, the engine's not as high as say Jon's, it's farther back to the firewall than anyone cuz we got rid of the speedo input, so I reckon anyone else silly enough to try this swap is gonna hafta come up with their own mounts. That, and we've got so many hours in this project I can't afford to add to it. But it is looking a little more like maybe this damn car's gonna run again, and maybe even in time for the next rally!

So after the holidays we got back to it and added 1" track to each side of the front, to make the halfshafts work. We just added a bit of length to the LCA's and relocated the balljoint mount holes. Tomorrow we'll need to do the same to the tierods. We're getting closer. I'm still trying to make sure we don't screw up shift linkage, we kinda wanna make sure we get the cables going to the right arms, but other than that I don't think we're gonna hit too many more snags. Gotta redo exhaust and mod the propshaft, and figure out turbo plumbing still but things are going the right direction...
