May the Force Be With You.

Rear main seem to be the bitch that gets me from time to time.

I'm prayin' for you. Because if the rear main's leaky, then the clutch can get impregnated with oil, so you need another clutch disc. Which isn't so hard, except all the work you just did in that super-tight engine bay needs to be undone, and redone yet again....

    Good luck!!

Shift issues. Hoping I can find a clutch MC bigger than stock cuz the clutch ain't completely disengaging. Hoping that when that problem goes away, the damn thing'll let me have 5th and reverse without bitching about it, but I spect I have a shift linkage problem as well.. it'll give me the other 4 gears, why not those last 2?
Pulling the access coverplate off the bellhousing, yes there's some oil in there, but I brakleened it and idled it for 10 minutes and no more came out. I'm hoping some of the driveway puddle was from oil and gearlube that mighta been lying on the xmember, we made a bit of a mess there earlier before the trans cooler was hooked up and maybe I didn't get it all wiped up and it finally spilled over with moving the car. But I don't see how that could get into the bellhousing so I still think I have a remove-the-drivetrain problem. I don't really wanna drive it anymore and find out till after the clutch works properly, so,,,,
anyone know anything about a bigger clutch mc?

Thx for that. Although I do now have the clutch disengaging all the way, just barely. Moved the pedal rest point back a ways, to get more throw. It still won't let me have 5th, and when you put it in reverse you go through several minutes of BS getting it back into neutral so there's a linkage issue, prolly in the gearbox cuz I can see nothing wrong outside it. But after 2nd testdrive today, none of that matters much cuz it's def leaking engine oil into the bellhousing. I'm gonna park the car, and confer with my mechanic when he gets back in town to discuss taking it back up to his shop so I can remove the engine and gearbox, and try to fix whatever's leaking. Sorry to hear that you might have to remove all the stuff you just installed. I absolutely hate oil leaks, too.

That is a pisser man, but at least you're getting lots of practice on how to service it quicker... We R&R'd a GTX box, in a parking lot, 30 degree weather in four hours, with only a couple of floor jacks.

4 hours is pretty dern good. It took me that long to swap a rear diff, last rally. Sleep deprivation.. the toyota diff goes in and out in a fraction of the time cuz o' the way I done mounted it. I wish the engine/trans unzipped as easy but I bet it won't.
It's odd. There is no oil on the cardboard under the engine. It only leaks when it runs. And to add insult to injury, I see it's weeping a little from the front main, too. We had the machine shop mic the crank, and we went over all this crap with a fine tooth comb before bolting the trans up. So, WTF? Did the thing sit too long without spinning before we fired it up? Are the seals wearing in and they're gonna stop leaking? I suppose I should call Boundary Engineering and get some o' them fancybutt oilpump gears, while I'm at it...
