      cool, thanks again.

So today I modified my 5MGE VAF adapter (for a cone filter) to fit onto the larger Mazda B/K/A/Y VAFs since my U code tapered adapter is not wide enough to seal the the adapter to the VAF....here's a pic compared to a cheap ebay adapter...note it's not tapered for the VAFs square inlet.

One of those lights needs to come on at a certain boost so you can call it your "awesome" light.

Passenger-"Hey, what's that light that just went up"

Mazda_Powered-"Oh that, it's just my awesome light. It's letting you know that awesome is happening right now"

                  Passenger-"... Awesome."

What length spring / rate did you end up going with on the front? And when at full drop, is it still tight, or does slack?

Like planned I just ran the 7" #350 springs that came with my sleeve kit originally since I swapped out the rears for a softer rate...#350 is still too much...#250 with the 25mm front sway bar would be perfect in my mind.

It's lowered to the max in the front atm and it's about a 1.75" drop...ans when at full extension the coil spring is still snug on the strut mount.

Oh ya, the front struts still have the stock spring perches attached, didn't plan to modify the KYBs since I want an OEM strut incase I want just a drop spring...so I'd go 8" without the perch and 7" with the perch,

Cool. I just need to find two front coilover sleeves now for the cheap and mimic your install. The QA1 and summit coilovers are only $36 / each, so I could do the front for around $125. I might do a shorter spring with a helper. Can you post a pic of it all the way down?

I like the way the rear sits on my car, I just need to bring the front down a smidgen, w/o out heating or cutting my current lowering springs.

you don't need helper springs if you order the proper length springs really...it's a daily driver so there's no point in over-engineering things.

Personally when I had the 7" #450s in the front I was able to lower the car to the point I couldn't get my scissor jack out (and they go LOW) and I was also still able to raise the car upwards of 2.5" which was really surprising...but it was due to the high spring rates not allowing the spring to compress much more than an inch after the car was fully loaded on the ground...lol

Stick with a 7-8" spring (shorter and stiffer, or longer and softer) around the #250-300 with some KYBs or Tokico Blues...and you'll love life lol.

I'm absolutely THRILLED about how the rear suspension reacts to my driving...and that's with #200s and Tokico Blues...KYBs don't even compare to them in my mind now that I've had the chance to finally run some lol. Car almost turns like it's an AWD car...VERY neutral with a hint of oversteer to help keep the rear end with the cars direction...just whips into corners now lol...just need better tires! LOL

I will be eventually sourcing out 8" #300 front springs for the Protege as the extra #50 per corner seems to be a BIT much...but not nearly as stiff as the #450s...I could feel ever crack in the road with those...the #350s I can only feel the larger ones now and doesn't bounce all over the place if uneven roads are presented lol.
