^^^ A tire sidewall will look kind of rounded like a balloon instead of flush with the edge of the rim.

Those look like they are pretty much even with the rim, so a 225 should look fine then. Good news! And yes i have 16's also, and they are just right.

ah yes thats what I was thinking. wanted to make sure.
I have tires like that on the rear of my accord. and the fronts are same size but diff brand so it does not balloon in the front. which for me is good otherwise i would have rubbing problems on the fenders.
      good to know!

On a side note, everytime i see pics of what the Celica used to be, i'm saddened, and wish i had just left it like that.

            Oh yeah: Seats.

Anyone make aftermarket seat brackets for these things? Or are there other good options out there besides the MX3 Recaros that bolt in? Wanting something better looking and feeling than the ****ty Escort seats.

Using the MX3 GS trans, which MFactory LSD am i looking at? 28-spline? Anything special i have to use in terms of axles?

Does the kit come with everything needed to install?

                Bumpage!

Got in contact with MFactory, they said the kit comes with everything i need, so it looks like that's a go. Have an invoice from them, will be paying shortly.

Still need an answer on aftermarket seat brackets, any ideas? In lieu of that, anyone have a nice set of MX3 seats or Protege GT seats they would let go somewhat locally for cheap? Aftermarket crossmember/subframe bushings? Anyone make aftermarket mounts besides the front and rear?

Will be ordering a buttload of parts on the 18th, so stay tuned! Updated first post with more planned parts.

yes. 28 spline. the only ones that are 31 spline are the H series trans on the F2t and vulcan 1st gen pgt.

and mfactory doesnt include the bolts, or the bearings with the LSD. u have to pay extra for those. or at least did when they did the bulk buy. that was the perk of the BB is those were included.

Thanks Pat, i'll give them another shout and make sure that they included those with my invoice.

Cross-posting from the other thread, just to keep it all together:

What do i do about the lower tranny mount? I forgot about that.

MX3 axles, EGT control arms and subframe, 3rd gen Escort hubs, and RX7 balljoints.
Would i be using the MX3 crossmembers to bolt the MX3 trans to? Does that pose any problems when using the EGT arms and subframe?

                    [edit]

Worked out a deal today for revalved Koni Yellows, Ground Controls (650/550), and Cusco front camber plates.

Possibly also getting 15x7 RPF1 with the deal. :D

                      I are happy!

Just general pricing stuff and a new decision or two.

                        Brakes:
                        Porterfield R4S pads - $135
Corksport SS brake lines - $100
                        Centric Premium rotors - $112
                        Driver's side front caliper - $30
                        Driver's side rear caliper - $50
                        Master Cylinder - $40

Complete brake overhaul for about $470. Not too shabby. Will be including some nice DOT4 fluid. If any of you want to replace all, you're looking at about $550 for a nice performance setup. Warning: The R4Ss are loud and dusty.

I already replaced the passenger side calipers this past summer, probably not going to replace them again unless i'm feeling REALLY OCD.

Have also been talking with Jim Pierce. Will be replacing my MX3 rear tie bar with his piece, as well as running his rear tubular control arms. :D

Now everyone sign up as wanting front tubular LCAs. They're awesome, and i want a set, too. We need 7-10 people. They'll be worth it.

Sounds like a good brake setup man. I never knew we could get Porterfield for the BG...might have to look that up. I was going to go with Hawk HPS or EBC greens when my brake time came...til then I'm running what she's got! haha

Have you done any poly bushings yet? trailing arms were easy as hell to do lol

I'd go with the HPS, R4Ss, or EBC Yellows. The Greens are more of a street pad. I like them, but i'm not sure how cut out for competition they are.

The front has all poly bushings in it. I'm not sure if i'm going to do the rears. The JPM arms will eliminate bushings, and i'm trying to find a solution for the trailing arms. I'd rather see some heim joints in there. (Jim, you reading this? ) But if that doesn't happen, i've already got a full set of ES bushings for the rear of this car, and i'll slap them in.

Oh, and you need to give my "GI" thread in the for sale section a gander. I've got a set of Axxis Metal Masters in there that i'll be selling for cheap next month. They've got a good initial bite to them.

Cool, i'll look at those pads for sure man.

Another thing if you're wanting to upgrade your trailing arms, the 97+ escort comes with tubular ones, and they feel much heavier...which isn't always a good thing, but it shows they're much thicker and stronger than our boxed style.

I'm not a big fan of EBCs. I think when I finalize my brake setup I'm gonna rock Carbotechs, the Miata guys are all about them...

                                RPF1s = boner party.

as far as seat brackets go, I think there was a guy selling a Sparco seat in FS a while back (I'll edit this if I can come up with his name... Hybrid Liger maybe?) using some aftermarket seat brackets and they bolted to the factory sliders...
