    Yeah, Eff that cannon. I just finished making a camping/garage cupholder out of mine.




    And here's what I just replaced all that ricer non-sense with:

        From what I've seen on teh interwebz, it should look fine w/ a GT bumper. I chopped mine off more cause it was smacked hard on the ground by the previous owner (Yours looks like it was modified to sit the muffler up about a half inch higher to prevent this). That and because I like welding, so I try to find excuses to do it as often as possible. I think the Borla will tone it down a tad since mine didn't come w/ the test pipe. (you're lucky)

          Oh is that why there's two sets of hangers on the can? I'm hoping there's a slight angle to it... huge fart cannons like this look stupid straight on.

            Ya my last muffler I had was one of those titanium burnt tip and it had a nice angle to it otherwise I would not have liked it lol
            Anyone knows what 9K rpm feels like? I do

                      Well, it's been sitting for like... 2 years.

                      I was thinking about trying to find an Unorthodox pulley for it... any input as to whether or not that would be a terrible idea? I'm trying to make this sucker as rev-happy as possible.

                      But this particular motor has 20k miles or less on a FULL rebuild, and i mean FULL rebuild. It is a true KL31 with the high comp pistons, already has DE springs and retainers.

                      It's missing some stuff (valve covers, manifolds, throttle body) but the important things are there. I'll use my K8 for valve covers, trying to source a straight neck intake manifold, ordering ebay headers, and i've got a line in on a CZT 65mm throttle body.


                      Question: Is the K8 fuel rail the same as the ZE fuel rail? I didn't think about that...

                          does the straight neck manifold come on anything in particular? there's a bunch of KL/K8-powered cars at the junkyard I usually go to...

                            Comes on a Jap-spec KLZE.

                            I have a K8 already that i'm stealing everything i can off of. Looks like starter and fuel rail at the very least so far. Luckily, i'm not running power steering or A/C, so there's really not going to be much on this motor anyways. I'll be stripping every last un-used bolt off of it before it goes in the car.

                                Awesome! Looks like you are getting closer! I am digging those tubular TTL's! Jim and Ryan, among others, are doing great things for these cars! It's a shame we can't support them as often as they deserve. (Imagine what would be available if we could!) I wish I had the money for those arms today, but mine are going to have to wait a while. Your guys' GT is going to kick some major ass! I'm exicted to learn a ton more from this project, as I am considering going pretty much the same route. Are you planning on sharing any particular setup info/data that you gather once the car is up and going? I think that this should be a very competitive platform, and that can only mean good things for the future aftermarket for these cars!

                                Anyway, looks like it's coming along quite nicely! Very impressive list!
