I think I finally figured out my starting and drivability issues with MS. I never set the spark angle in the settings according to the manual and one of my injectors is leaking.
So I ordered some parts:
Everything to upgrade my MS1 to a MS 3/3X and some ID 725cc injectors.
The plan is now after I get all this running is to install an OEM 36-1 trigger wheel with 01 Miata cam and crank sensors so I can run COP's and sequential injection.
After that it will likely be an 01 Miata VVT head, colt tri-flow cams, and ITBS done in a way that will have a VICS type setup. I have no idea how I will achieve that right now but I will cross that bridge when I get to it.
If I ever open the engine again, it will be getting forged china rods and some 85mm 11:1 supertechs to reduce the rotating weight a little more.
Its looking more and more like I will never get to do the secret engine swap I had planned if I keep doing stuff to this engine...............
Also just for everyone's information, I have experienced zero negative issues from having an aluminum flywheel and SOHC crank. I dont feel I needed to adjust my driving habits at all for takeoff or shifting and turning the A/C on doesnt affect it any worse then it used to.
