I bought that exact same water pump from the exact same place. I have 1000 miles on it so far and all is well. I'm nervous as heck though, and I keep thinking I shouldn't have skimped on this purchace considering what can happen if the water pump fails.
I should also say there was one small chink of metal missing that seals up against the timing cover, so I put a little dab of RTV there to seal it.
I really like rockauto. They have the best prices I've found so far. I ordered over $1000 worth of stuff in about 4 different orders (total rebuild of a BP), and everything shipped quickly.
great site indeed but im not up for paying 80+ for a water pump.....
Goto your local parts store and get a New water pump, your cost will be almost the same, mine was 60.00 from Bumper To Bumper.
Got many water pumps from them, No issues!!
mazdaformance prices are 25% lower than dealership.
part numbers for the SHIZNITZ:
B660-15-010E PUMP,WATER --------amount $55.87
B6BF-15-116 GASKET,WAT -----------amount $4.84 (full metal water pump gasket)
Not a cheap ass quality paper one
those are direct from my recipet, in hand from my new waterpump i put on my old motor. total of $60.71 for a brand new OEM waterpump w/better gasket. shipping was $10.29 for a grand total of $71.00 to my door within a week.
now if your cheap go ahead buy a bunk $30 waterpump. see how long it lasts you. id rather not worry about it.
i've got a spare GMB water pump if you can find a way to weld fill in the tensioner hole and re-thread it....(factory ****ed it up and drilled the hole too big without threads as well; why i don't know)
FOR REFERENCE ON WHY TO NOT BUY "GMB waterpumps" major casting errors in making the pump.
GMB is a $50 water pump. but the tensioner has nothing to screw into...take it to a machine shop and have them tap you some threads after they fillit with weld... should cost maybe 10-15 max ....
