so yes a budget build itsnt going to make much more than 150whp. unless you get alot of your parts for "freedollars"
That's basically what it comes down to.

If you guys want to spend a few grand on a reliable NA motor, find a wrecked scion tC and pull the engine and tranny and buy a megasquirt. With simple NA bolt ons and a megasquirt the motor in that car could easily make 180+whp. (and a ****load more low end torque).

Or find a K-series honda drivetrain, those can make even more power than the scion motor. Oh and the kicker? They're both going to weigh less.

The BP is just old technology.

Ahhhh...No one still has not hit the magic 150 hp on a budget I see.
The closest I got was 146hp SAE. It wasn't easy either. I did have a all stock bottom end though.

      Good luck.

well, i found a dyno locally that im going to. . . a friend of a friend that has one at his house. . . going to let me do some cheap runs as baseline numbers and then come over on the weekends and do a couple pulls after a mod. should be interesting to see what i can do with just bolt ons, no tuning.

oooor for an easy 150whp you can do a KLDE swap. They average around 140whp. So slap some on some headers, intake, exhaust, maybe do some port/polishing of the intake manifold...i can guarantee you that you'll be able to clear the 150whp mark. Plus the V6s rev a lot higher too!

KLZE's usually dyno around 175-185whp depending on the model (straight neck, curved neck). I remember the one 323 making 230+ whp all motor.

im doing it with mine just because i want to concentrate on the suspension and chassis tuning for right now. . . a bolt on here and there is enough power satisfaction for the time being.

                      Well Im back once again.

with the motor that started it all for me. now is in the 154ish whp range sense we have added an EMS setup, bumped up the timing, and are running race gas ( 100 octane unleaded ) and there is even more in this motor.now going back to the budget sense there is definitely alot more than 1000 in this motor sense all the machine work, .040 pistons, EMS setup, etc. but 150 can be reached. I will most likely be building 2 BG chassis proteges for my team here soon.

There is a good chance that now that I have a full facility with lifts, fab equipment, the whole shabang there will be alot more parts developed.

ProjectMX really see if you can get a better header. the genie / pacesetters are holding people back.
