The Haynes manual doesn't show it or explain where it's at? That's strange. I have it in my car or I would look right now. Anyway, you don't see it because the timing belt cover is in the way. Also, as stated above, you have to remove the timing belt to take it off. I replaced the water pump on mine once but it was long ago.

was it a big job? i dont mind doing the belt then re-doing the timing after, that'll give me a reason to boost up my timing!

did you have to crawl under the car? i wont be able to crawl under my EGT, i have inches of clearance! might have to borrow some jacks....

i just bought a new pump with a lifetime warranty! nice! 50 bucks!

It's not that it's hard. Like many jobs, it's annoying! There's little room between the car's inner wall and the pump area. You also have the line that goes into the pump. It's an easy job that takes a while and frustrates you. I have found a lot of easy car jobs become difficult for reasons other than the task at hand of removing and replacing something. You will see what I mean.

Don't over torque the water pump bolts when ya put the new one in.
I think the manuel calls for around 14lbs tq, but be careful the bolts break easily when over-tightend. Other than that its a breeze... Oh wait! also be carefull you don't drop anything into the lower TB cover, might wanna stuff a rag in there temporarily.
