    B6E to Bpt wiring harness

    Hey guys,

First off YES I have done plenty of searching through the forum and have yet to come up with the info that I need.

Ok, I plan on doing the 2nd gen GTX swap into my 323 at the end of the winter, but I 'am getting all the required info that I need now so that I don't run into problems.

I just purchased the Engine from J-spec Auto sports in Quebec, Canada, comes with the Engine, ECU, and the wiring harness.

Last winter I did an auto to manual swap, because of the obvious I don't like automatic. So I still have the automatic ECU and wiring harness and all the electronic goodies that went on an automatic engine (TPS, etc). All I did was jump a few wires.

So now I outgrew the B6E so In goes the BPT. One problem?

J-spec Auto Sports callled me today and said that they are having a problem getting the wiring harness and said that they would give me a $200.00 usd discount if I didn't bother with it.

Is it still possible to use the B6E automatic wiring harness with the GTX ECU?
What about the connectors (Knock sensor, TPS, O2 sensor)?

I checked my stock ECU and it has 3 yellow connectors going into the ECU on the passenger side and my TPS is a 4 wire if this helps with anything

If anyone would be able to help me out it would be greatly appreaciated.

    Thanks, Steve

P.S. Anyone have or know where i can get a wiring diagram for the GTX.

i BELIEVE somewhere buried in the forums, we have a gtx diagram on feoa.com. i know we have lots of 323/egt/etc. factory manuals.

i dont know if you can use the b6 harness but i dont know how different those two motors are really...as i understood it, mounting and such they were quite different.

this could be a serious chop up, but you could use an escort GT or even a protege wiring harness. because of the lack of gtx harnesses and ecu's, some kids have gotten clever with splicing to run a stock harness and/or a stock ecu. but then again it may be as much work splicing up a b6 harness as a BP harness. i couldnt tell you, ive personally not done it.

i'm with MD323 on this one, if you spent the money and bought the gtx motor and ecu, i wouldnt cheap out with hackin up an n/a BP harness, you'll run into less problems if you swap the gtx harness in.

only thing, make sure you're buying a left hand drive harness, or you'll have to extend all the wires a couple feet, theres a guy on cardomain that had to do that.

        good luck!
