    What Could Cause These Codes?

I just pulled my codes. I got codes:

    14: Barometric Pressure Sensor
15: Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor - voltage stays below .55 volts (Lean)
17: Exhaust Gas Oxygen Sensor - voltage does not change (rich)

I got all these irght now. What does this sound like?
From a 95 Ford Escort GT.

U need a new o2 sensor, or clean your injectors or something. Also could have something to do with timing and the fuel not getting burnt, ect.

in my ECU the barometric pressure sensor is built onto the board, as I recall. It's probably the same for you but I'm not sure. If that part IS actually faulty you may be out of luck, but I doubt it is.

Yeah I know that, I was just wqondering if my barometric pressure thing is broken/wrong, or if it would throw the code, since the 02 sensor will make it read wrong or something.

arent the 95 EGTs OBDII? or are they still ODBI....just curious.

also, just grab a used o2 sensor from a yard incase it isnt that, (save yourself some money)

95s are obd1 if they were built in the first half of the year.

actually the escorts are not OBD1 ... they do not have the OBD connector even though they may have all the required sensors.

The barometric sensor is inside the ECU. If changing your O2 still returns the barometric code, I have a Canadian EGT ECU sitting at home I can sell you for a reasonable price.

Then what is the DIG> plug in my engine compartment for? I thought that it was about to plug in to a OBD I reader.

i have an extra ecu in my garage also. Haha. I found out in the mazda service manual, it says if there is something wrong wit the barometric pressure sensor, the fix is 'replace ECU' haha.

****. All the ****ing o2 snesors for a GT are 300-400 bucks! What the ****!?

yep. replace the ECU then, but only after you do everything else. the CEL isn't infallible.

                      Does it use wideband sensors?

The O2 is not a wideband.

I got my O2 for $30 ... just bought a generic one and spliced the wire. Don't buy the one with the harness connector.

egt's are on an obd system, government regs. your DIG(diagnostic) plug is an ALDL plug for obd1 scanners. is your o2 sensor only one wire or four?
