OEM gaskets??

so it seems that i have no where to do the V6 swap i wanted to do dad wont let me use the garage for it. soooo im going to rebuild by spare BP motor over the winter, im getting an engine stand for xmas too, so that will make it uber easy to access parts.

anywho, to the point, i was wondering is Mazda OEM parts are the best to use, like the head gasket and oil pan gasket, main seal, headers, etc....stuff like that.

i dont plan on going for performance gaskets or w/e like copper, i just want good quality gaskets that wont let me down after 100,000 k or so.

awesome, thanks guys, does anyone know if mazda sells a rebuild kit? or do the gaskets/rings/bearings etc have to be purchased seperately?

last i heard, yes, mazda does have a full gasket kit. It'll be a few hundred bucks for sure.

yea, i was expecting to spend around 800$ to rebuild the motor, i want to get it all blasted and clean up the accessories, redo the rings (hopefully the pistons n sleeves are good) do the bearings, replace the valves seals, clean the lifters, get the head shaved, and port and polish the head (i can do that myself), all the gaskets. all im trying to do is bump the hp another 10 at the crank or so, and have a reliable DD motor, because the one in my car now...its leaking oil like a siv, from the oil pan, main seal, and its starting to make some bottom end noise so hopefully it'll last thru the winter since im driving it thru it now, then once the snow clears up, re and re the motors.

get u some new bearings, head gasket, seals.... and you should be all set..

the gasket set is 200-250 here.this is oem mazda gasket set.

We dont have sleeves in our motors, cast iron block.

Thank you! I was gonna go OEM in my rebuild for turbo. I was NOT aware that toga made a high power gasket kit! And its not even expensive! *big grin*
