    Miata clutch

Ok, im looking at keeping the F- series tranny, but i need a better clutch BAD, so i put some thought into it, If the Miata BP =the Pro BP and the miata clutch works for it.

Would the Miata B6 = the Pro B6 and the clutch work??

Honestly i could not find any info on this

I was thinking the same thing when I got my ACT clutch. I called corksport and they said they are not the same. Call them toverify, but that is what i remember. Hows the car holding up these days??

the same yes. just make sure you get an upgraded clutch for the 323 or a stock miata one. we all know the 323 stock 1.6L clutch will not hold a bp's power. its not that the bp is a power monster its just alot nicer then a b6! i know i got a clutchmasters 1.6L stage 3 for my swap since i will be using the 1.6L flywheel. that and it was only 50 bucks used with alot of life on it! i figured with the size difference and all i will be able to use my g-series tanny and my f-series flywheel and clutch. with the size difference it will be like having a stage1 bp clutch on there. i drove my red car daily for 18 months with the act street strip. so it can't be any worse. if i don't like it its only 5 hours to swap it all over to bp stock stuff.

ps thanks for all the help in the get it straight post. i ended up finding a full bp harness at the jy! oh that will make life simple.

its doing good, besides the clutch breaking loose on a few launches. dunno if your back in Bmore but you miss a good party. I got my car stuck in the field at orgeon ridge when i got the bright idea to take my wall-mart snow chains for a quick spin after the party and the %^$^'ers broke and left me pushing.

I am back in town till jan 16. I might be down to help you with a clutch. You still have that place you showed me downtown??? As for the actual clutch, I would call corksport and ask, or compare part numbers from a miata and protege. My ACT was for a MX-6.

I knew there was something different with input shaft I just couldn't remember what, and the FSM was no help.

why not just go to the ACT site, and look for similar part numbers. If I remember RX-7's use the same size disc as well.
The T3 BP MX-3 conversion has begun, and is taking forever & will kill me.

Its this simple.. you use the clutch & flywheel for whatever tranny you are using. The flywheel will bolt to any B series crank-- but te friction surfaces on the G & F series flywheel are completley different and so are the clutches.

It was over a year ago and I do not have part numbers. Check out corksports website, or call them up. The ACT clutch for the protege is the same part # as the mx-6 if I remember correctly.
