All depends on what form of induction it has. As far as turbocharged, the was a escort gt that was in the 11's but that was a full drag car. As far as n/a I think the best anyone has done so far is 14's and as far as supercharged, you'd have to check on the miata forums for what kinda times they run seeing as how no one here is running a supercharger yet.1991 Mazda 323 GTR Sedan

I think Im currently the fastest All Motor protege around.....I clicked off a 14.9.....which is not very fast, but all my mods are bolt-ons.
If you want to stay within the NA realm, you can get in the 180-200hp range with LOTS of money. If you wanna stay relatively cheap the best way would be a gtx(r) swap. You can easily get the 200+whp mark with those engines for less than $5000 for everything.
Cost vs Cost forced induction is always the best/easiest/cheapest way to get big HP numbers, thought it is not always reliable (or as fun or cool sounding) as a well built NA engine.
The possibilities for the BP are endless.Eat ****.

well what i want is reliability and an over all fun car. i want ac cause i live in miami and reliability because im in the car 8 hours a day. i could easily go and buy a car but i love my little car. im gonna need to rebuild the motor first before a gtx manifold swap. would it be better to just buy a gtx motor (low mileage of course) and install? or turbo my existing 180k mile motor.93 protege lx 190k, stick, girlie green

easy is hard to define. Depends on how good you are with cars and you hands. If you are good with them, then get the GTX parts, rebuild the LX motor and enjoy a fresh GTX motor.
If your less as experienced, go with a GTX motor, swap it in on your tranny and call it a day.
Both sides have their pros and cons. Either way could work out to be cheaper depending on how far you want to go with the rebuild and what not. If your car is your daily driver, I'd get the GTX motor so you can swap it all in and have less down time.

Bah, keep it NA....
Crack open the motor, drop some miata 10:1 pistons, b6t rods (lighter iirc), all new gaskets bearings and seals, then get some mild headwork, a nice set of cams and the other accomodating mods and BAM, youve got yourself a fun reliable motor. And Ill bet that if you can do the majority of the work you could do it all for less than 2grand.Eat ****.
