    Which year has the most aggresive cams and why?

    for the 1.8 DOHC BP. FAQ section got me no where and I'm tired of looking

    MK1 all had the same cams hydrolic lifter cams
    BP05-intake
    BP06-exhaust
    with exception of the turbo model*
    BP26 cams

    MK2 all had the same cams solid lifter cams
    BP4W cams
    with exception of the turbo model
    unknown...

      Thanx for the reply, I just need some clarification.
      In what year does the MK1 and MK2 type engines com in?
      1993-94? What type of engine is in those Proteges?
      And which is better: hydro lifters or solid lifters?

        mk1:90-97 (90-94 protege) 94-97 miata
        MK2:99-00 miata

        hydrolic lifters automatically maintain 0 valve clearance at all times but are limited with lift & RPM(~7400rpm)

        Solid lifters must be shimmed to maintain proper valve clearance & can use high lift & support higher RPM
