    Possible clutch damage...

Ok, about 10 mins ago me and my brother tried to do a rolling start because my battery was dead, and had no car to boost from. So we got it going down my driveway, at, what I remeber from doing this before, a decent speed. (holy comma Batman)

I had the car in first and tried it, duped the clutch and nothing, soounded like the clutch was 'jumping' and slipping. If that makes sence. Basicly the engine did not start.

Attempt 2 in 2nd gear, exact same thing happens.

So what do you think is going on? not enough speed? or ****ty clutch.
Also, do you think my clutch is ****ed from the beating I just put it through?

highly doubtful you damaged the clutch trying to pop start it unless it was already damaged. in an ideal world you get the car going as fast as two people can run/push it and then just slip the clutch out. If your alternator is shot or anything is less than optimal it ussually doesnt work very well though.

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's not your clutch.
i've had to roll start my protege so many times and I know what you're talking about.
you probably need a bit more speed

ahh, well then it has to be not enough speed. I know the alternator is good, replaced it a year or two ago.

Also good to hear that the clutch isn't wrecked.

I got the **** boosted and its all good.

If your dash is not lite up, then you can't pop start the car.

Because you have no ignition power.
