What temp spray paint for exhaust manifold cover?

    What temp spray paint for exhaust manifold cover?

    While I have my engine apart I was thinking of sanding down and spray painting the exhaust manifold cover, valve cover and intake plenum.

    I've found some high temp spray paint which is rated at 260C/500F. Is this enough for the exhaust manifold cover?

    For the exhaust cover, I'd go 1500 degree paint. The valve cover should be good with the 500F stuff, and intake manifold should be good with pretty much any paint. I used wheel paint on my intake manifold - two years and counting.

      ya exhaust mani needs to be 1500 2000 would be even better.

        I'll get some higher temp paint then. Anyone know if I can spray paint spark plug wires?

          no you cant. and that would be rice buy the color you want dont do messed up stuff like that i mean you could paint them but it would chip off probably before oyu even got them back on the car even.

            yea like escortkid said, painting plug wires is pointless it can also screw up the wires. there are many diffrent colors of wires to buy. and those colors will last way longer
