    fuel issues now haha

well i found out the coil problems were due to a bad condensor, so its fine now. but i'm having issues with fuel now it'll run for a couple seconds with some quick start, so i know its fuel. the pump doenst seem to be coming on, so i put some power to it from where the 15a fuse is and it started humming like a champ. and the both relays under the hood are fine, and i replaced them just incase with working ones from my protege. but the pump doenst want to come on with the car...any ideas guys? i know the pump works now, and the relays are good. i might have a FPR code...but the thing i dont get is the FPR is vaccum operated so how would you get a code? from bad vaccum?

anyways, any help would be a step in the right direction

    its a 92 EGT.

Check the relay next to the ECU.

What Denis said..that relay is the circuit opening relay it controls the fuel pump. Also you can jump to pins in the diag port under the hood that will cause the pump to run ..just another way to check it. Could also be your distributor going bad.

i know, tell me about it

ok, well it might be my disti then, because the plug is starting to get bad, a couple wires are holding on for their dear lives, just have to wait for another nice day and i was going to solder a new one on.

so you're saying if i jump the ten that will overide the relay beside the ecu? and what harm would be done if i left it jumped and drove around? just wondering.

well thanks a LOT for the help guys. i did what you said, and it turned out to be a bad distributor plug from what i can tell, dont know if thats the only issue, but one of the wires let go on the plug, so im gonna snip one from the wreckers tomorrow, solder it all up, and give it a try.

              thanks
