Yeah, that's what happened to all of my spark plugs. After I get the valve cover sorted, I'll replace them.

would the oil on the pulg explain the car having problems starting sometimes and the car running funky at low rpm?

Whoops misread thought you were asking about the plugs, sorry.

Spark Plugs, NGK, they are the OEM plugs, and Auto Zone will carry them.
BKR5ES11/BKR6ES11 or BKR5E11/BKR6E11, 5 or 6 depending on how hot/cold it get where youl live.
List of NGK plugs that will work:

                I purchased 4 BKR5E11s for little over $7

Get an OEM valve cover gasket or it will leak again.

you should always get seals, gaskets, crap like that from the dealer, even tho they,re a little more expensive, the fit prfect everytime

LOL I was going to type that in my response as well, but there were two other factors that could have caused the leak.

I learned the hard way, go with an OEM gasket.

Yeah, I'd replace the plugs while you're at it.

                          I recommend NGK V-Power BKR6ES.

hey whats goin on guys, i'm new and my girlfriend's car has the same problem...so i changed it and it's leaking again, probably even more now. i was wondering if it might be from not tightening the bolts enough, do they have to be torqued at a certin setting? also what type of oil should i be using in that car? it's a 1990 automatic with 130,000 miles, we live in southern california so it's hot, i know the temperature has something to do with what type of oil to use. last time i changed the oil i used full synthetic 10-30, was that the wrong oil to use? thanks a lot...these forums have been very helpful, especially since i'm not rich

Yeah going from dino to synthetic on high mileage cars isn't a good idea and can cause small leaks to become big leaks. Make sure to use an OEM gasket and to clean all the crap out of the groove the gasket sits in on the valve cover. Be careful with the valve cover bolts, they are only supposed to be torqued to 44-78 in-lbs. My torque wrench only goes down to 120 in-lbs so I just go by feel.

                              Jho:
Are you recommending the hotter plugs since you live up north? Any tips for tightening the valve cover bolts without a torque wrench that reads that low? I just go by feel.
