    b6t rod in gtr setup?

    Hi

I want to know the difference between the b6t rod and the gtr rod.

I have wiseco piston 8.6:1 forged and I plan to boost 15psi so I want to know if they gonna be OK for my setup, I have a vj23 with a gtx head and the block is rebored to .50.

    thanks a lot.

The GTR Rod is stronger. It is the stongest that came stock in the BP motors. THe B6T rod is the next down from it I belive.

the gtx head sucks, put the cams in a normal BP head.

the b6t and gtr rods can hold 15 psi on the vj23 no problem. Actually the stock BP rods can do it too. I run that daily and am making over 250whp.

Today I pic my b6t rod and compared it to my older bp rod.

Left bp rod, right b6t rod.

                      The b6t rod are forged?!?!?!??!!

none of the stock B series rods are forged - so no they are not but they are plenty strong.

Ya the current B6T rods from the dealer are just the miata rods. But you can get the good B6T rods in the 323 GT GTX from 88 also the Merc. Capri with the b6t also.
