with the dx ecu and a bp one you would want to run it with vics in the open position at all times. and secondly you will not have all the rev's those extra thousand rpm's make a big difference my guess would be in that situation your low end power will be terrible and you top end will probably suck also.

uhh yea i thought about that... but isnt the ECU plug different from the sohc(dx) - dohc(lx)?
how would changing just the engine harness allow the new dohc ecu to read the VICS and all that crap if the plug that goes to the ecu is still the protege dx one?
...if that makes any sense; im probably trippin

like a said before, the wiring harness goes to the ecu and nothing else (minus another plug next to the ECU but is the same on all BG's) you just need the motor ECU and wiring harness, its plug and play"Discontent is the first necessity of progress."

ohhh okay thanks man you saved me a huge headache! i still have to find an ecu though... and i think my distributor is damaged too
also if you still have that clutch by the time mine goes shot, ill take it
