No, brainiac, if you swap from a v-belt and ribbed pulley to a dual ribbed you'd just swap the alt and waterpump pulleys to match. I thought a guru like you would know that the (dohc) waterpumps and (about all mazda) alts were more or less the same?

The BP pulley bolt pattern (to the timing gear pulley that sits over the keyway) is the same top and bottom. Did you have the second part of the pulley upside-down?
