    Radiators: Ford laser/GTX/Protege?

Ok. here is a question for ppl

Does anyone know if the US spec Mazda protege 90-94 rad is the same as the 90-94 Australian Ford laser rad.

Or if the GTX rad is the same as the US version?

I have an Escort right now. And I have the full headlight set of the Ford laser TX3. But the US rad is in the way. And the Aussies use a rad that looks very very similar to the Protege rad.

After that. what would anyone recommend in the way of an aftermarket rad that would be good for a BPT setup (ie: turbo doesn't hit it)

A lot of people are going with the half-sized civic radiators.

You can easily find some pretty nice all aluminum civic radiators for cheap.

why dont you just find a rad that'll sit under the rad support and make a supporting bracket from the bottom? if you dont have a/c you shouldnt have any problems.

this was what i was going to do for my V6 swap...buuut that's not happening now.

PS. when i was at the wreckers, i found a neon rad would fit under the rad support, but you had to angle it slightly to clear the filler/pressure neck and cap. you could always notch your rad support and have it re-inforced from underneath so you can't see it, fairly easy!

        good luck

OK. just to add to this. I am trying for a very stock look.

I need a rad that is identical to a Ford Laser Rad ....which looks a LOT like all the BG GTX pics i have seen. So that got me to wondering if it's the same as a normal 1st gen Protege rad.

Reason being is that my Escort rad is too far over to the drivers side to fit my Laser TX3 headlights
