94 Protege

First of all let me say hello to everyone on the Forum and thanks in advance for the help you will all be. My 94 Protege started sputtering on and off like it was not getting enough fuel, but only when I was below a quarter tank of gas and especially during acceleration. Then it gradually grew worse until now it often chokes out even with a full tank. I have dumped in numerous bottles of fuel injector cleaner, changed spark plugs, wires, distributor, etc.. I am changing the airfilter next and possibly the fuel pump if needed. I thought perhaps this was a common problem with this car or if someone may have a suggestion. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

sounds like a problem with the fuel system, i agree. have you tried changing the fuel filter? its a lot cheaper and easier to change than the fuel pump, and it could certainly be the root of your problem.

Thanks for the suggestion, and I'll for sure try it. Like ya said the fuel filter is a lot cheaper to replace, so hopefull that's it and not the pump!
