the f-series will top out sooner due to the gearing and also not take as much abuse due to it being less durable.

this has been covered countless times.

wrong, the f-series is geared steeper. top speed with an f-series is like 160mph or something like that. with a g-series its around 145. you are correct in saying that it is much weaker though. it would never hold up to the abuse of a motor capable of hitting 160mph . even with a stock BP they will not last long if you abuse it.

Yea, it looks like your can is an LX. So it's BP powered..so you'd wanna slap a nice G-Series tranny on there. If i were you...look for a 94-97 Kia Sephia tranny. Because if you do end up putting down a lot of power, you can easily swap a MSP LSD in.

I'd get new axels if I were you... no good putting used axels in... who knows when the CV joints are gonna go, as these are very prone to going.

G-series is geared for more bottom end, as the F-series is geared for more top end.

I got my F-series up to 200km/h once... geez, that was fast.

I've blown 2 F series trannies and my old roomate blew one with his B6 and normal driving.

the diff pin will let loose sooner or later, and the internal shafts are thinner (presumably to save weight) and more likley to flex away from each other causing damage to the gears. this even happens in the G but at higher power levels

Meh, you should be fine with used axles, just check for play and boot wear on either end, and make sure the jack-shaft has no play either.

Shades; Yea i've gotten my old EGT up past 200km/h. That thing loved 200k, haha, it would be slow from around 170-185 then pick right back up again. Showed that friggen 302 RX-7!
