iirc, the 3rd gen escort subframes are different than 2nd gen bg escorts. The trans is a mtx75 in the zx2s, but im not sure if the axles will fit.

        wrong wrong wrong!

the zx2 uses a mazda G-series transmission, just like the pro lx and EGT. just a different bellhousing.

the drivers side axle should fit, passenger side could be different because the intermediate shaft could be different... since its bolting to a totally different motor. the crossmember should fit, but why are you replacing it? also what do you mean by crossmember? are you talking about the front subframe or the bar that the trans mounts bolt to?

I think that the crossmember should work and I think that it is even an upgrade because it has a tie plate brace thing.

youre thinking of the wrong thing, its the subframe that has the extra brace. the crossmember he has is the same as a normal BG one and will work fine.

That was an incredibly stupid mistake...the thread I posted even says subframe in the title.

no you cant use an f-series bellhousing, yes you *should* be able to swap the bellhousing to a BP g-series.
