Speedocable and tranny compatibilty Q

For all of you who don't know. I'm swapping a BP/tranny from my old Escort to my 323.

The question i have is can i use ANY g-series speedo cable? Talking about the 2nd half at the tranny, that attaches to the speedo gear and spyder gear. Or will i have to use an Escort gt g-series 2nd half?

Also does the ford BP speedocable hook up to a mazda 1st 1/2 of the cable?

the ford cable is all one piece... and will not fit the mazda speedo gear at the trans, or the mazda speedo in the dash (or so ive been told). youre going to need a protege LX speedo sensor and cable.

mine broke one time and i was able to use a mx6 one and it still works it was from an 89
