Breaking in a new clutch. Couple Qs

I'm heading back to my place on tuesday which is roughly 300k from my parents place. Is it ok to drive the car on the highway with a new clutch? I've only put about 10k on it so far. It's a stage 1 clutch incase that matters.

    thanks

    JACK.

hard launches and high revs shifts are the things to avoid, otherwise your fine. I always slowly get more aggressive every 50 miles after the initial 100 miles till its broken in

Don't know if it means anything, since it was a stock Mazda clutch, but when we put the new one in shortly after I bought my Protege, I didn't break it in at all. The day after the install I drove it hard and have had no clutch related issues over 2 years after the install. Is that supposed to be a horrible thing for a clutch, or is that only on aftermarket performance clutches and not stock ones?

I didn't know there was a break in period for a clutch... I always thought you just drive it.
