    2.0L from the ZX2

Does the engine from the ZX2 swap in to a 323 relatively easy? I know its much more straightforward to do the B6D or the BP swap, but seeing as alot of the suspension swaps with modifications to the 323, I was wondering if you can do the engine as well. I have never ridden or driven in a ZX2 how peppy and rev happy is the engine compared to the the B6E and B6D?

first off, a BP swap would be MUCH easier.

technically the zetec would bolt in with no problem (with the zx2 transmission and everything), but wiring would be an absolute nightmare. it would probably be easier to run standalone (megasquirt for example) than to run the stock zx2 ecu.

The Zetec motor is a decent motor with decent power as long as you get a Manual, the automatic makes that motor seem really week. I had a Zetec in my last car and it's not near as rev happy as the B6D and will make the same amount of power as the BP meaning it's not worth the time, energy, or effort to swap a Zetec into your BG. I don't feel that the Zetec motor is very reliable either, I beat on mine half as hard as I do/did my motors in my 323 and it didn't handle it well at all seeing as the Zetec is a Ford made motor and doesn't get the same care and design as the Mazda made motors. When I traded my car in for my 323 it had about $3000 worth of repairs and $2200 of it was the motor and tranny.

My suggestion is to stick with a BP or B6D, if you have your heart set on a Turbo get the BP, that's what I was going to do, but I had the B6D sitting in my MX3 and I blew the B6E up and it needed replaced. Now I get the task of locating the more difficult turbo parts for the B6D.

      Good luck,
      Mrh.

Just like staed above, I'd stick to those swaps. The only way I'd say to do a zetec swap is if you're just trying to be different. Good luck

I thought about and still think about this swap. its either this or the V6 for the 323 if I drop my BP project
