How is that? You mean using my existing shifter?

ya vice the ball on the shifter, heat it up for a few mins then wack the shifter to move the ball up( i suggest using a rubber mallet so you don't mess up your threads )

you need to then tack weld the ball in place after and grind the welds down smooth.. otherwise it could possibly move around as youve melted the original glue away with the heat. i've made two of these, one is in my car right now (works great).

yea, tack welding it in place isn't a bad idea, but i don't think it's neccesary. when i made mine, at first i pushed the ball too far up, so the bottom of my shifter barely hit the exhaust, so i had to move it back down a little bit. when i put it back in the vice it did not want to move AT ALL even when i was hitting it with a hammer in the vice, until it was just as hot as the first time. it takes a few minutes to heat it up with a heat gun

i used a propane torch, so maybe i damaged the glue a little more than you did LOL
