    problems::::plugs look like black cotton:::: once again need some help

    iight so this is what happand ... my old lil itty bitty turbo blew up and all the oill ran through the intercooler ...so i changed the turbo no oil leaks in to the engine ...ive checked the pipeing to make sure ... now for some reason ,, my plugs keep getting fould out ..first it was # 4 close to the dist..... now its number 2..... check engine light kicks on and off.... i mean yeah i know my car runs rich cause of fmu and 33o injectors on a bp 10 ecu.....but better safe then sorry .. car ran great with the old turbo .. now ive steped up tdo4 and it runs great for a lil bit then the plugs get shot......like 20 mins ago i had to replace number 2 with one of the old ones ,,, got me home .. but i really need to fix this ... also im working on getting a rx-7 vaf so i get my damn safc to work right ,,, its just really hard to find one out of a turbo 2.. well let me know im gonna trouble shoot all day ..

        bigger turbo = more CFM & possibly higher boost = dumping even MORE fuel

          i dont think your finshed .....

          i dont think your finshed ..... so what since theres a bigger turbo,,, the ecu can tell the diffrence even thoght im set at 10 lbs ... so i have to reduce the fmu..or should i play around with the waste gate ..cause i mean its wierd .....starts up holds idol ... go out on the highway, i cant even make it out of 1 gear with out it bogging some where around 3500.. but like insane ley ,,,crazy......i think my o2 is fuked due to oil spillage that ihad last month from the turbo ......like open throttle im rich ./... now it depends on how i step on the gas i start getting lean readings .....

            welllllllll... your engine management sounds jerry-rigged at best, sooooo i think thats probably your main problem. combining bigger injectors with an FMU and a safc on a stock ECU is going to be a practically un-tuneable nightmare.

            and yes a larger turbo flows more air at the same boost. the ecu doesnt read boost, it reads airflow.

                a GTX ecu... and if you are hitting boost cut, get some 460cc rx7 injectors and tune with the safc and a MAP sensor.

                  I had a 14b on me pro with 440 cc injectors an fmu and the safc, I used to fowl out plugs and start bogging between 3000 and 4000 rpm. I call the local dyno tuner, he called me a fool for using a fmu with 440 cc injectors and an safc and not expecting to drown the engine (harsh words werent they), I took off the fmu and ran fine. But make sure you get dyno tune soon.

                    FMU's are made for running low boost (5-6psi) with your stock injectors

                        now explain this ..

                        iight so if you read the subject in hand you already know what was my problem this mourning ....

                        so i had to go back out to pick up the lil lady from work ......i useually run 93 octane since i was empty ... and im running to rich i figure let me see if ican lean out the car a lil with midgrade fuel 89......car ran like **** after i gased up ..like while in gear anything above 3000rpm would bog out like crazy.. so to make a
                        long story short ... wene i got to where i was going ,,,,... i re adj. the tps screw ..brought my idle ,.,to like 1350.....then i reset the ecu ,,, and she started runinng good again ,... can any one confirm if it was the fuel change .. or the tps the maid her run smooth

                          you should really get a bp26 ecu and a wide band and dump that fmu

                          what fpr are you using protege lx or gtx?

                            Running less of an octane does not make your car run leaner. Lower octane has less of an ability to quell knock, higher octane burns cooler allowing for more room for error if you are getting deto/knock. Complete sentences rule also.

                              Ditch the FMU totally. I had one on my old car. I hated the thing. Un-tunable piece of crap.

                              Keep those injectors you have. They will do for the time being.
                              Grab a 'GTX' BP26 ECU or a 'TX3' BP58 ECU(rewire pins in plug accordingly). Add in a SAFC-II for finer tunability beyond stock ECU parameters. Add the MAP sensor mod if you want to be more precise.....but just running the signal for the SAFC off the TPS will make it RUN.

                              Do all that for a start. That should get you back to being reliable

                              Get a Wideband O2 meter too. They are a required item for doing any home tuning these days. There are a few out there now that have a Narrowband simulation mode so you can just replace your stock 02 sensor and still have the proper narrowband 0v-1volt reading.

                              *NOTE: Running rich will KILL an 02 sensor. So do the basic above mods first before you foul up a wideband.

                              Recap:

                              Lose FMU
                              Keep 330cc injectors
                              Add GTX BP26 ECU (w/ ECU pin plug swap)

                              That will get you "Running"

                              ==================================
                              Add SAFC-II
                              Add Wideband 02 sensor/meter

                              That will let you fine tune and adjust settings

                              ==================================
                              Swap to 460cc Injectors
                              Add Manual Boost controller
                              MAP sensor mod for SAFC-II

                              That will get you into higher boost levels safely after all of the above are already done.
