What causes my shifter to have alot of slop in it. I replaced the shifter rod bushings ( the ones that are in the knuckel right before the trannie) and they helped a little, but it still has alot of slop.

yes its at the bottom pivot point where the shifter connects to the shift rod. energy suspension sells a polyurethane support rod bushing thats probably as cheap or cheaper than an OEM one. suspension.com has it under the escort ZX2Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI

Hey man, I went to that site and was unable to find the parts that I was looking for. I was after the shifter rod support bushing and it was only avail. for the 97-01. I think that I have read that its compatable but I'm not sure. Someone help me out
