    Cut out problem

At low rpms and gears the motor cuts out but clears up as soon as i get into a steady highspeed or higer rpms. I just replaced wires and plugs. The distributor was replaced about 100,000 miles ago. My engine light isnt on and i have no idea what it is. I checked and didnt really see any vacuum leaks.

    Anyone got anything?

    thanks,

    shane

Check the connector on the vaf or try another one. Unplug it and see if it acts the same way.

I actually hooked a air to fuel ratio gauge into the front O 2 sensor, but the thing is you have to splice it in and i thought it was causing the problem. Soo, i took it out and wrapped up the cord with some electical tape but it still did it. Could that have anything to do with it.

I tried unpluging it but the car doesnt run but a second and shuts off. I don't have a MAF laying around.

      Thanks,

Thirded. It'll make it stall out at low speeds, and you should see evidence on your spark plugs. I believe running lean (which is what would be happening) causes the electrode to look white. Take a look at your plugs, preferably your old ones, and that'll tell you if this is the problem.

It was the MAF. I just unplugged it and then plugged it back in. It runs like a champ. lol.
