spec clutch, with act pressure plate

anyone running this set-up? I have the street modified act clutch, with the heavy duty pressure plate, however I think the clutch is only good for about 270ft/lbs or so, and the spec clutch is more, was thinking bout trying a spec stage 3+ clutch with the act pressure plate if its doable, I just dont want to get the trans together and have to pull it again cause the flippin clutch is slipping you know......

whatever Ryan, bpt323, is running, doesn't have a crappy hard engagement, and has held up well to all he's put at it. its a spec stage 2+ I believe, but I can't remember. a short search should find that answer.

I've heard better things about spec than act on this board, that's who I'd trust my torque to.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

I think Ryan has a stage 3+ the full faced disc one.

The less clutch surface area the disk has, the more grip you'll get out of the pressure plate. But, you may get a slightly increased hard engagement, hard to slip. I'm not sure how that disk looks. When I ran a four puck disk on the last rally car, once it got up to temp, it was a bitch to try and get the clutch to slip, it just wanted to grab and go.

the spec stage 3+ is a carbon/metallic material (usually used for puck discs) but its a full faced disc for smoother engagement.

Sounds like good material. Should work out great on the street/strip. I loved the holding power of my 4 puck, but hated driving it on the street, noisey and difficult. But, I didn't have many options with the Festiva's tiny surface area.

I find that my spec stage 1+ GTR clutch is very grabby once warmed up.

It's a kevlar clutch, half puck, half full faced (on the flywheel side). According to SPEC it is "composite multi-friction carbon-kevlar material"

OEM mazda GTR clutch kit. (1280lbs) , holds up really when to launchs, trackdays ( it got hot), still worked even with clutch dumps
when i swapped the box over to the n/a i used it again. the disc still looks like new.
