        It's not nessesary but helps if theres something wrong with your car. It can make adjustments too keep you semi-safe.

          Unless you are leaving a bpt stock and using good gas or are having a real good tune done I wouldn't be without one.

            it only pulls 1 degree of timing ... back then knock sensors weren't as accurate as modern ones. Without it, it will run in derated state all the time.
