    EGT brakes

    I wanna upgrade the brakes on the 323
    Do I need to change the front calipers for the EGT upgrade?

    I have already purchased rear calipers, rotors and front rotors.

    you will need EGT front and rear spindles, and front outer caliper brackets. the inner half of the caliper (where the piston is) is identical.

      So should I buy new front calipers?

        if your front calipers are in good shape, youcould simply grab the brackets from the junkyard. if your calipers are bad or questionable, just buy some rebuilt ones or whatever.

        look at the back side of your caliper, there are two 17mm bolts. these hold the hydraulic half of the caliper to the "outer bracket" as i've called it. the only difference is that it has more clearance for the larger rotor and pads, and its got 14V cast into it instead of 13V.

            ill have to try and find some then my calipers are less then 2 months old. hopefully when i get the spindles the calipers will be attached and I can take them

              i can assure you that this works... i found a brand new pair of 323 calipers on ebay when i was building the egtr... swapped my 14V brackets from the stock calipers on there with no problems

                  ive never done the upgrade, all of my escorts have had the larger front discs. my first was a wagon with large front discs and rear drums... but its been so long since i drove that thing i dont really remember how it compared to the EGT

                    I've done the upgrade. The four wheel disc with Escort GT fronts certainly added a ton more stopping power.

                    By the way, not changing the proportioning valve can add some crazy fun when trail braking. So much wild and crazy oversteer at the autocross.
                    I peered out from the castle window and looked over the splendor of ROTM county. Yes, twas' a much simpler time back then. Peasants would go about their postings, and I, the mod, would rule over them with an iron fist.
