Will a miata clutch work in a protege?

Reason:

I am building a track car...finally.. and there is a VERY nice race clutch that is made for the miata that I would love to run.

94+ miata works on dohc bp. The release bearings are the only thing that wont work from the kit.

Hope you can help me. But first, my english are really bad. Hope you'll understand what I'm saying...

Currently, I'm using OS Giken twin plate racing clutch with flywheel set on 323 sedan with BG8Z GTR engine. One of the clutch plate are missing it's spine ( 22 no ), don't ask me how... Since OS Giken doesn't make this set anymore, is it possible to use the set for Miata? Thank you for any of your responses...

OS Giken Twin Plate Racing Clutch !!! Very hard to find for BPT or BPD engine.. Made in japan... That's why..

the BPT flywheel is unique.

to use a miata kit you'll need a non-turbo BP flywheel

What Jon said - the Miata disc is 5mm smaller in diameter than a GTR/GTX. SPEC sells a great clutch for the GTR.

any part number for the spec one for the GTR? so you cant use a miata fly wheels with a gtx or gtr clutch right? im wondering if its cheaper to go with a nice miata set up or source the bpt parts out

No, the flywheels are very different between a BP and a BPT. I had a gtr flywheel and this is why I went with that clutch. A good quality BP clutch will do you just fine.

GTR ones are not cheap but I run a Stage 1+ on my built motor without any issues so far.

sorry for bringing this post back up from the dead but is the klze clutch from the mx3's just as big as the gtx clutch? i have a GTX fly wheel but i rather go with a lighter one im trying to find the best clutch to hold 400-500hp and the car will be for weekend drag racing duty
