BP tranny on a B8 ??

does any one know i the b8 and bp tranny wil interchange or is there a differance in axle splines and or clutch???

need to know as the 91 b8 dx we just got never has oil put in it and the trans blew befre we evengot it home

you can run the g-series tranny.

you'll need the following parts for the g-series

tranny mount
axles
clutch/flywheel
slave cylinder
clutch line
shift linkage

i didnt realize the slave was differant between a b8 and a bp...

i think im going to do a complete engine and trans swap

are you sure the b8 and bp have differant shift linkages?


and what about the lower brace that holds the frot rear motor mounts does that need swaped?


does it matter if im using a escort gt front and rear motor mounts ??

yes they are different. but the difference is the "g-series" and "F-series" transmissions. the motor does not matter at all. i also have had bth linkages in my hand only the shifter arm itself is different. the rest of the assembly is the same.

Ive pull a bp in and out about 12 times and this is the first one i had to bolt the lower plate to the rear mount first before bolting the plate to the car. what a pain in my ass. i always pull engine and tranny as an assembly.
