    KL vs BP flywheel

Can someone do me a favor?

Anyone have both a KL V6 flywheel and a BP flywheel lying around? I was wondering if you could check and see how well the flywheel teeth mesh. I'm looking at possibly using a KL starter on a BP (odd, I know) and I need to know if the teeth are the same.

If you're feeling really devoted and/or bored, a tooth count on the Kl flywheel would also be helpful. I can count the BP teeth myself. If you could measure the circumference of the ring gear with a cloth tape that would help too.

BP: FW has 112 teeth, Weight 20lbs? Disc outside diameter 7 7/8", spline inside diameter 7/8", spline count 20

(probe, mx6 v6) KLDE- FW has 112 teeth, weight 23lbs Disc outside diameter 8 7/8", spline inside diameter 15/16", spline count 22.

    (Mx3 v6) K8- FW has 114 teeth, Weight 17lbs. Disc outside diameter 8 1/2", spline inside diameter 15/16", spline count 22

Even thought the K8 and KL have diffrent # teeth they both use the same starter. Also the K8 and KL flywheel and clutch can be used on the BP. It will bolt on.

      Devotion
I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.

thats not true, the KL flywheels are 8 bolt and the BP is 6 bolt.

        the clutches do interchange, however.

thank you for checking out the tooth count! the last thing i need to do is check the actual circumfrence, that way i'll know if the number of teeth per inch is the same.

sorry, I ment that you can interchange with the diffrent disks lol

But speaking of which even though there six bolt, I wonder if a KL fw will still bolt up to a Bp crank?

Also the 88-90 Rx7 non turbo use the same Disc outside diameter 8 7/8", spline inside diameter 15/16", spline count 22. So it will be easier to find a disk then a KL

the probe/mx6 guys use the mx3 flywheel all the time. supposed to be a nice little swap.

i can't use a mazda disc at all, since its not going to be riding on a mazda input shaft... =o

i think i'm going a different route, but if anyone has a KL flywheel to measure the circumfrence of i would still appreciate it.
