hello all i am doing a escort gt1.8 bp build i was told to use pistons out of a miata cuz there flat compared to a boul type thas in mine well i took my head off and wow i found plat pistons with cut outs for the valves what do i got if there is any body that can help me that knows what i got please let me know thay can also call 217-259-7664 thanks TONY . I CAN USE ALL THE HELP I CAN GET ..

They're most likely slightly dished...
... and if you hold your keyboard to the piston we could tell you, but if you take a pictures so we can see you might get a better answer.
AND all BP pistons have cut outs for the valves, that's what makes it a non-interference motor... and if you shave your head more than .020" you run the risk of taking that away.
You need to give more info on what you are looking at, what you are trying to achieve... ie. a turbo motor or a N/A motor.
If your motor in your, let me take a wild guess, 1990 Escort GT has never been touch then you have stock 8.8:1 compression pistons.Last edited by Shades; 02-03-2009, 02:14 AM.

fresh rebuild on lower end and a new head shaved 15.ths and cam up grade and the valLy pan out of a pro. .. header with 2,1/4 exaust pipe alu flywheel and a stage 3 racing clutch...i think i might have a little more hp//lol i hope. thanks for all the help. what will that vally pan out of a pro. do for me ? if there is any thing else i can do please let me know ... thanks TONYLast edited by dirttrackegt90t; 02-06-2009, 03:57 PM.DMS 90T
