    CV axle replacement

Before you say "OMGG searchhh" I did and found a lot of things out but nothing with my conditions/story.

So as i was driving home from work tonight i decided i would ride in peace and quiet and i heard how bad my CV axles really are. they were clunking like crazy. Im afraid of driving it to school tomorrow in fear of damaging something if it were to break. what could it damage if it broke while i was driving? and i have triple a so i dont have to worry about getting it towed. i dont get paid till thursday so im thinking about taking the bus. but when thursday comes ill get the axles and heres the question. now i have the luxury of being able to do it at school but it will probably take until monday, which is a long time to wait. or would it be possible to do at the house without power tools and have it done that day..
    btw

yes it is possible you just need a big breaker bar to get the axle nut off and the rest is easy should only take a couple hours and dont forget to get tranny fluid to

Do it at school, as you will have an extra pair of hands and all of the tools you need... if you've driven it this long with the tunes pumpin' what makes you think it's gonna let go.

At most your wheel locks up cause the cv joint has no grease... woop dee doo, tow it to school.

Oh yeah and get the whole drive shafts with cv's... don't try to repair the cv's cause it's wasting time.

You can do it without power tools. I've done it everytime without. Power tools would make the job a whole hell of a lot easier though. If you do replace them without power tools then you'll definetly need a big breaker bar. Also don't forget to tq them. 120 ft lbs iirc. Without power I'd say its a 2-3 hr job. With power maybe 1-1.5 hrs if all goes well.

they arent going to actually "break" unless you try to launch the thing or something. the only time i EVER broke an axle/cv was a 7k rpm clutch dump in the burnout box + wheel hop. that was my 2nd burnout ever.

now that i've got the clutch work down i launch off the revlimiter every time
