    timing belt questions

    So i almost got my motor all together just was going to put on my timing belt tonight and ran into a problem, Well i put the BP rods, pistons and head on my B8 block. And left on the B8 oil pump. From what i read there isn't a problem with that but what i ran into is that the tensioner for the BP is mounted on the water pump and the B8 on the oil pump, so i just removed the B8 tensioner and used the stock BP idler pullys in there stock location. Will this be fine? I'm guessing it will but i just want to ask for a second opinion. Also should i advance/retard the exuahst or intake cam gear when im putting on the belt because i don't have adjustable gears so its now or never lol. Thanks

    I don't remember why, but when I did this swap on my old DX I had to change oil pumps too. That was like 7 years ago, so I couldn't begin to tell you what the problem was.
