After installing new plugs (.30 gapped NGK iridium) and wires i'm still getting spark blow out under boost. What gives?

I gap my plugs at .028 or lower for more than 15psi. Make sure the wire going from your coil to the disty has a good connection. Mine keeps on burning out.
Try increasing dwell by 0.2 at first and then 0.4 and see if it helps, but with a blaster coil I doubt it.Last edited by Lex; 04-13-2009, 12:22 AM.

drop your boost levels down low... see if that helps... If it goes away then its definatly spark blow out..
When you did new plugs did you do wires as well... how old are your wires to begin with what kind of wires are you running? Its possible when yanking on the wires to pull them off the old plugs you've upset your wires causing a weaker spark...

i'm running .030" gap on BKR7E copper plugs all the way up to 23psi with no issues... blaster II coil and taylor wires.
my advice: check out/clean your cap and rotor contacts. a while ago i had spark blowout issues which i narrowed down to cheap cap/rotor parts. the cheap ones all have aluminum contacts which suck. if i cleaned them up well it would be fine for a week or two and then have problems again. try and find the GP Sorenson premium stuff... i got mine from Advance auto. they are an ugly blue color, but the contacts are all brass. I put them on a while ago and all my spark problems disappeared immediately and permanently.Escort GTR -- 11.87 @ 117.6 mph -- 320 HP / 325 Ft. Lbs. @ 23 PSI
