Hey i know this might sound a little noobish but i might buy already welded up 3inch exhaust piping from a member over here but i have a 2.5 inch inlet muffler can i just weld a peice of piping in between the two so that it would allow me to weld the muffler to the exhaust ? and also how much of a powerband loss am i looking to see if i run 3inch piping on a stock na setup for a little while as i gather parts for my turbosetup. its not like im going to keep it na so i just want to know for the heck of it because i might drive it around for a little bit once i drop my new bp in there and there is no exhaust piping on the car as of now so id have to put the 3inch piping on or run open downpipe lol but thats a little too loud

You actually want a little back pressure when you are N/A, otherwise it's gonna affect your low end torque... off the line performance will suffer. So puting that 2.5" muffler back will help you a little while on N/A. When you go turbo you better put a 3" exhaust on there... turbo's do not like back pressure. They actually say that an open to atmosphere right after the turbo is the best bet, but no one wants that.
