MTX flywheel bolts same as ATX?

Are the flywheel bolts from the MTX similar to the ones that would come out of the auto transmission?

I read that on another forum awhile back and was wondering if anybody knew about that?

I remember they were the same as well. Maybe different grades of steel, as the auto flywheel doesn't see clutch dumps.

Anyone know what the answer of this question is for a BP engine? I removed ATX torque converter and flex plate and will be mounting flywheel... can I use those bolts? Called every part store in the area nobody carries flywheel bolts.

they are NOT the same. You need MTX bolts. the ATX ones have A stamped on them I believe. It's a dealer only part but you've gotta have them.

Ok good to know. Yes the ATX flexplate bolts do have an A on them. I used them to mount the flywheel initially but I don't know the differences, maybe the MTX ones are a different size due to the difference in width's of the flexplate and flywheel. I will replace them with real flywheel mounting bolts anyways since I need to order clutch pressure plate bolts and transmission housing bolts from Mazda. Hope it doesn't take long

Got a set of MTX flywheel bolts, I took some pics to compare them from the ATX Flex Plate Bolts...

MTX Flywheel Bolts on L / ATX Flex Plate Bolts on R (with A Marking)

MTX Bolt is longer due to thickness of flywheel compared fo ATX Flex Plate. It is also not threaded all the way up to the head of the bolt (has space for flywheel).

Mazda Part # for MTX Flywheel Bolts is F201-11-511A
