    1.6 8 valve potentiel

hey did some one now what I can do with the stock 1.6 8 valve in my mazda 323 to make it a little bit more power full and fun to drive ?

The cheapest and quickest power adder would be to bolt up a B6D head from an MX-3. Other than that, the 1.6L has to come out and something with a bit more pep goes in...

I heard that the coolant passages or oil passages or something don't line up with that swap. I haven't tried it myself so I'm not 100% sure.

I threw in a 1.8 DOHC throttle body and ported the intake manifold inlet to match the larger diameter of the TB. It made the engine slightly peppier and revs a bit quicker.

The only thing you can do with it is to throw it away. Get a real engine, or change cars. There is not much to do with the 1.6 sohc, it was built for economy, not power.

I put a Mass air flow sensor adapter and a cone filter on my 323 daily driver. I did it as a cheap repair (My air box was cracked). Surprisingly It gave the car a noticable amount of extra power.

I used a Vibrant Performance Mass air flow sensor adapter
            P/N 1996

            and a Spectra air filter

            P/N 8162.

Having a free flowing exhaust system with a high-flow cat and high flow muffler would also help. Fresh NGK plugs, Wires and (new) good quality cap and rotor, fuel filter would also be wise.

Performance Improvements (Pierrefonds) would have the intake parts.

u could always get a cheap turbo kit , run low boost and u will get more power. i saw a universal turbo kit on ebay for like 400 bucks.

I'm sorry B8fiesta but there is no such thing as a "universal" turbo kit, different cars need different exhaust manifolds/different flanges to bolt up. Your kit may cost 400 dollars but you will spend well over that to make it work.
