    Rod bolts

Well i put my bp in my brothers car just to keep it going. The engine had about 195k on it. So its old. So after it was in my brothers car we drove it about probably 2k and the rod goes through the block. The same thing happened on the other engine that was in the car. Now my question is i'm guessing that the rod bolts gave up and the rod went threw the block. So upgrading to arp bolts would make this problem go away.

Maybe not. You can upgrade to ARP all you want and rods will still decide to vacate the premises if there's not enough oil pressure. Stock rod bolts are strong enough on these engines that when we built the latest rallycar engine we kept them and just upgraded the head bolts.

wow sorry to hear about the issues, it may have been an oil pressure problem like jay mentioned...i'd grab an oil pressure gauge for that car lol.

i've never thrown a rod in a BP, and i've accidentally ran 1 REAL low on oil and it just had some HLA noise for a while.
