Bronze Oil Bushings and short shifter- corksport

I'm looking for some reviews here. I want to buy them to compliment the kia trans and act clutch kit I'm about to install. Are they worth it? I've read the bushing make it "harder" to shift?? Can we elaborate on this? Wouldn't it just make it more precise? The short throw shifter is just a novelty really. It's a 30% shorter throw. Any comments on the construction of these upgrades?

    thanks, Cole

if you use bronze oil bushings you need lock nuts, the ones with the nylon insert. Then you tighten them down, drive it for a bit, then adjust after a couple weeks.

I love mine... in my escort I had a kartboy shifter with bronzoil bushings... it felt AWESOME. I miss everything about it (well other than the bushings I still have them in my pro).

The one that cork sport sells now is supposed to be a replica of the kart boy. I have the bronze oil bushings on my escort along with a TWM shifter and like it.

I'm looking at this site: http://www.mcmaster.com/#sleeve-bearings/=6r2306

for bronzeoil bushings 10mm ID x 13MM OD x 5/8" flange bushings buuuut they only show in inches... How am I supposed to order them as an alternative to the corksport bushings?

Well I took a trip down to oregon to get some parts and ended up stopping by corksport. I bought a short shifter but didn't really want to buy buschings. Mine were fine anyway so I will wait on those. install took about 10 minutes, Its really short so you really can't reuse the stock boot but oh well. I took it out for a drive and it has a really nice feel to it. It actually shifts like a rifle bolt. I had a kartboy short shift in my subaru and this feels the same. Very worth the money.
